What kind of sports are suitable for someone with a thin body type?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

People are telling me that because I am skinny, there are some sports I just cannot play and some that I can do? Can someone give me a list of those sports?

Maybe long-distance running–indeed, most types of track and field events. Perhaps tennis or soccer or swimming.

What is the best HGH product for shoulder surgery recovery?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

What is the best products to buy for a full shoulder repair? HGH Gluclosomine Condroriton MSM and other products and brand names that might help. This is my 3rd surgery so i don’t want scar tissue to be another problem any help would be greatly appriciated.Quality is most important but where can i find the best products for the best prices

HGH is human growth hormone. The supplemental forms of this in the US are actually taken from the glands and brain of pigs. There is very little known about what the spectrum of effects could be. Clearly there can be benefits, judging from people I know who have used it. It is pretty obvious to me too that it could exacerbate certain diseases, although who knows which ones (I’ll bet on any kind of tumor, cancer, and reproductive issues). Most probably, it causes your own body’s natural production of HGH to slow down as the supplement floods your system, and when you stop taking it, there’s a good chance your body won’t be able to pick up the slack. Probably won’t hurt you, I don’t think its worth the experimentation.

So, as for good stuff: there are a few very effective nutrients for repair that I would suggest.
***Please note it is best to wait until several days after your final surgery to begin a regimen because many supplements will thin the blood and you need that to be clotting for a while after the surgery.***

MSM (1000mg in 2 doses a day, or more with a Dr’s advice) – is a sulfur compound that is supportive of tissue repair and proper inflammatory reactions. Not sure about this right after surgery, wait 7 days or more to start it, use 1 dose daily to start and work up).

vitamin C – (500 mg once or even twice a day, or as rec’d by a Dr) – the "helper" vitamin that makes other nutrients more efficient. it may reduce blood clotting, so don’t use it right away (see above)

Biosil by Natrol – this is a special type of silica. Natrol is touting BioSil as a beauty supplement, but the company that sold it for years before Natrol told the whole story: it helps in repair and maintenance of connective tissue (ligiments, cartilage, skin) and is used in the building of bones. This stuff is amazing, but it will seriously thin the blood.

The best prices and quality can usually be found in a good local health food store. Try to find one in your area that is independent or a co-op and has staff in a vitamin section who can guide you around the shelves. They will often have the best prices overall, as the shipping/handling and even the sale prices online are often not good. Also, generally vitamins need to be stored/shipped and handled in a temperature and time sensitive manner and who knows with online delivery if they’re stored in 120 degree storage unit in Arizona before they are shipped! Stores buy directly from the brands (speaking from experience, here since I’ve been an enthusiast for years).

Good brands for MSM and vitamin C:
Jarrow, Bluebonnet, Natural Factors, Soloray, Nature’s Way, Country Life.

Try the homeopathic remedy Arnica Montana 200c potency before and after surgery to encourage proper blood-setting and prevent huge bruises and swelling. At the store they will tell you how to use them (little pellets usually).

Good luck! Visualize little cells healing other little cells, it may help your body get the picture :)

How does health insurance work – when insurance premium can generally increase?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

If family of two have health insurance, and one of them decide to use it for couple medical procedures will insurance policy premium go up?

Please advice.

Thanks.

No. The premiums will not go up for that. Usually health insurance is up for renewal once a year and the cost increases at that time, but not just because you use your policy. The cost of group health insurance where I work has had double digit increases in the premiums every year for 10 years now. The health insurance companies are out of control.

If you have insurance and need health care – go get the care you need. Check out this site, if you want to find the cheapest health insurance just in one minute,

Do you have to take the physical fitness test before or during the Philadelphia police academy?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I took the philadelphia police test, and wanted to know do you take the physical fitness test before the academy or during the philadelphia police academy? Also what would they do if you are underweight?

Any agency that will potentially hire you will mandate you pass a physical agility test. They will also send you in for a comprehensive physical exam. Reason? Because for you to be covered by the local pension plan, you can not have any existing pre-employment defect that would prevent you from preforming your duties and put them in a position of liability.

As for underweight. You need to carb up as much as possible. Lots of fruits, pasta, rice and moderate exercise.
Maybe also see your doctor and express your concerns about your weight and see if they can recommend diet supplements that are safe and effective for your needs.

I would like to know which is a better anti-aging formula, Neutregina or Oil of Olay Regenerist?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Of these two, which one is a better anti- aging formula that has the most benifits? And which one of these works the fastest?

Check this out..

Product: Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
Use: As an anti-aging cream that smoothes skin, lifts sagging eras and restores elasticity
Price: $24.00
Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B

What I liked about it:
- Great light, fruity scent
- Non-sticky product texture that’s thick but doesn’t leave a sticky film on my face and neck
- Very moisturizing
- A little goes a long way, and you don’t need to use a lot of it.

What I didn’t like about it:
- Can’t positively say if it actually helped to lift or restore elasticity
- Jar packaging isn’t convenient, I wish it came in travel-friendly pump form.

Somebody once asked me what my anti-aging secret was, and I told them that it was a combination of immaturity and sunscreen. My sunscreen choice since I was a teenager has been Olay Complete. I’ve always had good luck with Olay products and love trying anything that they come out with because I’ve been a long-term user of the brand, so I got the chance to try Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream I was stoked. Get me on that Olay train!

I have to say the biggest thing about this cream is that it smells and feels great. The scent is light but not overwhelming or chemical. It’s light and fruity and a pleasure to put on at night. The texture of the product once applied to my skin is also great. I don’t like the sticky feeling some lotions have – I especially can’t stand having a sticky neck, yuck! But this cream leaves my skin feeling dry and moisturized.

The active ingredients are an amino-peptide complex and an intracellular fortifier made up of hyaluronic acid. Like with other anti-aging products that I’ve tested, I can’t really say if Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream actually lifted sagging areas and restored elasticity. It’s really hard to quantify, especially if you don’t have lots of areas sagging areas to start with (gimme a few years though, ha!)

The biggest points with this cream are that I like the texture, scent and the fact that it does provide excellent moisturization.

You might like it if:
- You are a fan of the Olay brand
- You like your moisturizers to feel dry and not sticky after application
- You need a heavier moisturizer on your face and neck.

Okay so based on this I would buy it over Neutrogena. They werent in this blog at all..not for anti aging anyway

Would anyone recommend HGH use a weight management tool?

Friday, August 28th, 2009

I am trying to losing 100+ lbs. I do work out and do cardio 2-4 times a week. Due to work load i just cant make time for more exercise. I have heard HGH might help in excelerating weight loss. Any advice or suggestions. Any opinion on legal issues as far as prescribing this drug?

HGH is not illegal. But the only way it is going to get prescribed to you, is if you are older than 50 years old or suffering from dwarfism. Other than that I think your SOL and might want to consider talking to a nutritionist or someone else instead.

What is the best way to learn alternative health techniques and practices?

Friday, August 28th, 2009

I have always been extremely interested in alternative health techniques and treatments. I am currently in a very good job that I am not really crazy about. I would like to move into the alternative health field and would like to eventually open a health food store and small health spa. I know it is a process but I want to know where I can start. As far as I know (and I could be wrong) there is no school to go to learn alternative health. I don’t know where to start learning and how. Also for the learning process I need to work around my full time job as I don’t have the option to not work as I need the income. I really want to start learning about this field and just need some suggestions on where and how to start. Is there perhaps a way to be like an apprentice to an alternative practitioner?

What about some books from a health store?

An even better start is a web search in Yahoo for "alternative health techniques" that will yield at least 412 results including overviews of alternative health techniques and stacks of other useful information for you.

Another useful search in Yahoo for "alternative health practices" will yield at least 2,888 results.

What are those fitness walk trails with exercise stations called?

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Back in Girl Scouts we would go on a hike at a park that would have a fitness trail. Along the fitness trail there would be stations set up where you do jumping jacks, pull-ups, walking a beam, etc. I have seen them by office buildings and apartment complexes too. What I want to do is find out what they are officially called so I can do a search online. Thanks! (PS: I am from the Schaumburg, IL area if that helps.)

Usually it is called a fitness trail.
